The American Samoa Community Cancer Coalition approved the development of a new website by a local firm, PagoPages.com. The new web site is being developed and hosted for free by PagoPages.com as a donation to the organization and to help support the organization's mission to spread cancer awareness and to help support those with cancer.

The new web site will replace the organization's current web site and will be hosted at http://asccancercoalition.org.

The new site will be based on a Content Management System, which will enable the organization to more easily maintain and update our web site, so please check back frequently, or subscribe to an RSS feed to receive updates.

In 2002, a Pacific Cancer Intiative was formed between American Samoa and nine other jurisdictions in the United States Association of Pacific Island Nations (USAPIN). From this initiative, the Cancer Council of the Pacific Islands (CCPI) was formed and funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to assess the cancer burden on each jurisdiction. In 2004, the assessment showed that cancer was the second leading cause of death in American Samoa. With this information, it was decided that a coalition, made of government and non-government organizations needed to be formed to reduce the incidence of cancer morbidity and mortality on island.
