LBJ Medical Center In American Samoa The LBJ Tropical Medical Center, a 128-bed general acute care hospital, and is the only hospital in the territory. The Medical Center provides a reasonable scope of general inpatient and outpatient services covering: medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, ear, nose and throat (ENT), eye, pediatrics, and renal dialysis. The LBJ hosptial is the only clinical laboratory, diagnostic imaging, and outpatient pharmacy services in American Samoa. LBJ Tropical Medical Center is a semi-autonomous authority.
LBJ has 4 major departments: Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, and OB/GYN. LBJ facilities include an eight-bed, combined ICU (Peds/Adult/Medical/Surgical/Cardiac), a Labor & Delivery unit, NICU/Newborn Nursery, a 4 suite OR/PAR, a 14 station ESRD Dialysis unit. Specialty clinics are: Dental, EENT, Opthamology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Surgery, Mental Health, Physical Therapy, and a busy Emergency/Family Practice Clinic.
